At last work is underway to plant up our secret garden space. The planters and seating are completed. The astroturf is cut and placed. We have been in touch with Dobbie’s Garden Centre to ask for their advice on what plants will provide us with all year round greenery and survive in that shaded spot. Our helpers today were removing some of the excess sand and readying the place for planting. Within, the next week we will be looking for volunteers to help us plant up.
Let the children in Primary 6 lead you down the rabbit hole to discover the magical world of Wonderland…meet Alice, the Mad Hatter, some crazy cats and a very unusual white rabbit to name but a few.
Primary 6 had a fantastic afternoon sharing their songs and poems with a group of invited guests before sharing a traditional meal of haggis, neeps and tatties.
Good Vibrations was an interactive show which followed two friends as they discovered how to create their own music.
With the help of the children their journey began by exploring sound; what it is, how it’s produced and how to make different sounds.
They then finished their exploration by looking at how modern technology allows us to vary and make sounds by creating a piece of music with the class.
P6b had a fantastic visit to the Victorian classroom in the grounds of Leith Walk Primary School. We stepped back in time to experience life in a Victorian class and then moved to another room to learn about home life and saw/touched some artefacts.
The children in P5 ran a French Cafe which served breakfast to the children in P5/6 this morning offering drinks and French pastries.
After break the P5’s were served lunch by the P5/6 children in their Spanish Tapas Cafe. Great fun was had by all and they all got a chance to practice ordering food in French and Spanish.
The group have arrived safely at the Tate Gallery in London and managed to get enough time to send us some photos during their lunch break.
